Product Description
CeramiBoard® can be described as a cellulosic
substrate coated or impregnated with a liquid mix of chemicals, that solidifies and becomes hard on curing. The process imparts both higher strength and fire resistance to the cellulosic material, and
enables products to be made that can be used as building materials. Particularly useful in this respect are products incorporating at least one layer of corrugated cardboard, as is the case for most
cardboard boxes used for packaging. The corrugation itself provides some features that are desirable in a building material:
- High stiffness to weight ratio
- Thermal insulation by virtue of the high volume of air trapped inside the product
Please note that the cardboard can be replaced by a cellulose fibre slurry in the CeramiBoard® process, in which case a fibre-cement like board can be produced (non-Portland cement based).
